  1. Wow! There is a lot of history there, literally! And I thought I was old. I wonder if any of the students taught in this room are still with us today, though I doubt it. Very nice capture into the past. You did this shot justice with all the rich tones of the worn, but sturdy desks and floor that stood the test of time and the wood burning stove with all it’s character and old time beauty. I can almost imagine what the teacher and the students looked like and the way they were dressed back in that time period. A blast from the distant past! Thank you Joe!

    • Thank you very much Gale 🙂 This old schoolhouse is part of the Long Island Museum in Stony Brook. There is another good example of an old turn of the century schoolhouse at the Old Bethpage Village Restoration but I think this one is in better shape.
